Welcome to the Year 8 home page! This is the main page for anyone interested in what goes on in Year 8. 2012 Well-Being Day: We are currently planning the Year 8 Well-Being Day to be held on Wednesday May 23. As part of the day, we will include a variety of sessions relating to health, well-being and bullying/cyber safety. 'Project ROCKIT' is an interactive anti-bullying and youth leadership program that is run by young people for young people in school and university settings. The program aims to help build youth leadership, citizenship and resilience by tackling the issue of bullying in school communities regardless of social labels. Additionally, we will include a workshop where the students partake in a session of Zumba - the Latin dance-inspired fitness program. Patricia Sklavakis (Assistant Dean) has established a Well-Being Committee of Year 8 students who are working on other sessions based on their own ideas. There is no cost for the day, although we will partake in the 'Biggest Morning Tea' which requires a gold coin donation. Year 8 Sports: Year 8 students will be participating in inter-school sports on Monday 4 June. The winter sports are netball (the sport of champions!), soccer, badminton and AFL football.
