Science Captains

The 2010 Science committee has been never better, where selected girls from each year level participate in fortnightly science meetings at MGC. The objectives are mainly to raise awareness of science, planning fun events in school as well as providing girls with the opportunities of enhancing and pursuing their science interest outside of school. Apart from that, the friendly environment also enables the girls to establish confidence in expressing themselves.

 
The responsibility of Science Captain is the following:
 

·   Select suitable science representatives from each year level

·   Conduct regular meetings with the science representatives

·   Work closely with the science teachers

·   Plan and carry out activities and events during science week

·   Raise awareness of science in school as well as outside of the school

·   Represent MGC in interschool events

Junior Ambassador Captain Summary

As a Middle School Junior Ambassador Captain, my core job is to organise Open Days and Information Evenings for the school. I also have the role of training my Junior Ambassadors for these events.

Junior Ambassadors are Year 7 or Year 8 students that attend Open Days and Information Evenings to take tours of the college for future M.G.C students or parents and respond to any questions or queries. They are the people who display and represent our school on these important days. Some ambassadors are occasionally asked to take tours for international or national guests and talk on Information Evenings to prospective M.G.C students and parents.

Being a member of the Middle School Executive means attending meetings every week, and some weeks even 3 times a week depending on your role. You must attend all of these, as a lot of matters are discussed.

As I am in the executive I try and be a role model to others, and I also help run other school events that we organise;
e.g.: Athletics Day, Movie Nights, Fundraisers, etc.

The Senior Executive Public Relations Captains also coordinate these events, and I support them and the rest of the Senior School Executive in any way possible.
